South Africa is currently experiencing: daily power outages exceeding 12 hours and electricity prices have skyrocketed by 300% over the past decade! However, within this crisis lies an opportunity – in 2024, South Africa will lead Africa with an additional 1.1 GW of installed photovoltaic capacity, and the government has set an ambitious target of 8.4 GW by 2030. As the traditional power grid teeters on the brink, rooftop solar plus energy storage in distributed energy systems is spreading like wildfire!
